Malocclusion is a serious dental disorder that has affected millions of people all around the globe. Issues such as overbite, underbite, open bite, closed bite, cross bite, etc. are various types of malocclusion that ruin the aesthetics of one’s smile. Orthodontic treatment has to be received to properly align the teeth as desired by the patient.
Generally, braces were the most commonly recommended type of orthodontic equipment by dentists. However, they have certain disadvantages, such as metal components, sharp edges, higher risk of getting injured, etc. This calls for a better orthodontic solution, that is visually undetectable, safe, metal-free and highly effective. All of those are offered by the revolutionary ClearCorrect.
ClearCorrect is a removable, near-invisible aligner that is fabricated using dental grade clear plastic. It is custom fabricated according to the severity of malocclusion of the patient, the contour of their teeth and the change that they expect at the end of the treatment. They are absolutely comfortable, fit perfectly on the teeth and move the teeth gently to the required positions.
ClearCorrect aligners are made from a transparent plastic material that is biocompatible. This makes them virtually invisible.
The diagnosis of malocclusion starts with the dentist visually examining your teeth carefully to check for the severity of the condition and how best it can be treated. X-rays and 3D images of your teeth will be taken and sent to a dental laboratory for fabricating the aligners. The aligners will be crafted with extreme precision so that they only apply a specific level of pressure on certain teeth that are out of alignment.
Once the aligners are fabricated, the dentist would brief you about how to use them. They will have to be worn for a period of 22 hours a day, and will have to be removed only while brushing the teeth and consuming food. A new set of aligners will be given by the dentist when you visit them for follow-ups. They will be modified accordingly to accommodate for the change in the teeth alignment. Based on the severity of the misalignment, the treatment period may vary between a few months to a couple of years. After it is completed, the dentist may recommend a retainer to prevent any relapse.
